The Tourist Board of the Town of Cres has prepared a rich and diverse summer program for 2025, including top-class music, theatre performances, fishermen’s festivals, carnivals, creative workshops and traditional celebrations. Visitors can expect a blend of culture, entertainment and authentic island experiences.

Lubenice Music Evenings kick off the season
One of the island’s most beloved cultural events, the Lubenice Music Evenings, begins on July 11 and runs until August 8. This year, the series is led by new artistic director Dario Sabol.
The opening concert features Sudar Percussion with “Kola i Piazzola”. Other performances include Ardemus Quartet (July 18), Trio Corrente (July 25), guitarist Srđan Bulat (August 1), and pianist Arsen Dalibaltayan closing the season on August 8.

Music under the stars at several locations
As part of the “Music under the Stars” concert series, the band Versi will perform on July 10 in Beli, July 17 in Valun, and July 24 in Martinšćica.

Theatre on the Pjaceta for all ages
Theatre on the Pjaceta begins July 17 with a children’s play “Adrian’s Promise” by Mali Teatar, followed by the adult play “Footballer’s Diary” on July 18. Other announced titles include “Three Brothers and Three Towers”, “Oh, Almighty Jupiter, What Have We Done?”, “Bugo and Jura”, “Circus, Literally” and “The Cooks”.

Sheep Festival, Summer Carnival and Sailing Regattas
Orlec will host the 17th Cres Sheep Festival on July 12, featuring traditional sheep shearing, a best ram competition and local delicacies.
The Summer Carnival takes place on July 19, and the traditional sailing regatta will be held in Martinšćica on August 30.

Valun Summer Nights and Days of Tramuntana
Valun Summer Nights will feature various musical acts throughout the season, while the Days of Tramuntana open ceremonially in Beli on July 26.

Cres Fair and the Island of Puppetry
The Cres Fair runs from August 5 to 7, and the project Cres – Island of Puppetry will take place from August 14 to 17, offering puppet shows and workshops.

Workshops, klapa music, fishing contests and costumed tours
July and August will be filled with local product exhibitions, klapa (a cappella) evenings, free costumed tours in the town of Cres, wool felting workshops, Craft & Wine sessions, and children’s fishing contests. Fishermen’s feasts will take place in Martinšćica.

Visitors are also invited to enjoy a swimming marathon, traditional sailing regattas, exhibitions, and dance nights. Be sure to explore the Creski kaić Interpretation Center, Cres Museum, Visitor Center and Griffon Vulture Rescue in Beli, Sheep Farming Museum in Lubenice, and the Andrija Linardić Museum in Martinšćica.
